MARYLAND INSTITUTE FOR TECHNOLOGY IN THE HUMANITIES

PRINT + WEBSITE DESIGN

MITH is a research center within the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland. I worked with a team of digital humanists, developers and librarians on both grant- and internally-funded projects and events, for providing design support including logos, websites, postcards and posters.

Internal projects and events

I was in charge of all the design work for internal projects like office signage, events and information about the center. They hosted a series of lecture events every semester, and advertised with a schedule postcard distributed around campus. A card like the one below was used at information sessions for those who want to learn more about MITH.

Other projects and events

Some of the projects at MITH are grant-funded or with internal and/or external partners. Design work for these include posters, postcards and promotional items for events.

Below is an events poster created for the African American History, Culture and Digital Humanities project and an events postcard for the yearly Humanities Intensive Learning + Training institute.

Logos and graphics

Almost every project or event that I worked on required some sort of logo or graphic, usually used on the MITH website for blog and social media post. A sampling of these project logos may be scrolled through here. To learn or view more on the research projects done at MITH, visit mith.umd.edu/research.

Details about these projects can be found on the MITH website.
